The Night it FELT like Christmas (yeah, this is a little outdated)

It was cold...And there were lights... But best of all was the little Christmas child. Doesn't he look like something straight off of a card?
We're not really sure what this is - part of the Bogota "summer" or "spring" theme. The city decorated 4 of the largest parks to correspond with the 4 seasons... but since they don't HAVE seasons here, we didn't fully understand the representation of the lights.

You can't really tell but this - lizard? is taller than a tall person (even than a tall American!) - sorry about the direction of the pic, I forgot to edit before uploading. 
The park didn't only have lights, but lots of free entertainment - would you like to hear a mariachi band, watch folks juggling fire, eat...?
All this adult conversation... maybe we'll find someone more interesting to talk to.

Home Sweet Home

It might be nice to own a car in Bogota... if you wanted to drive in this - or have 2 days every week where you aren't allowed to drive. Or there's the alternative - busses. This one, no matter what you may think, is NOT full.

Our gifts are fit for the lifestyles of the not-so-rich-and famous... but they're EXACTLY what we want and need!

Oh, by the way, the purpose of the car is more to cover the window than to decorate - but guess who thinks it's great? (carrrrro!!!)Crepes! Jugo! Arequipe! Helado! Pollo y broccoli (OK, maybe the last doesn't sound as good as the first, but it made the Christmas dinner perfect).

Wow, Lord, that's a lot of knees- and how many now are bowed in front of you?

This is Monserrate, the historic Catholic church at the top of a mountain about 1000 feet above most of the city.

 Look at the houses of 8 1/2 million people and tell me you don't realize how insignificant you are in this big world. 

Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him! (Ps. 144:3)

 It's a big, big world! Anyway, we went to a "farm" north of Bogota. Check out the view!!! And in case you were wondering why we like to work with kids, maybe this will help?
